Are you ready for the upcoming GraniteMann challenge?

Entries are still open for The Children’s Centre’s GraniteMann event in September. The off-road triathlon, returning on Sunday 24 September, has been a popular outdoor event since it was first held in 2014.

Sponsored by local law firm, Quinn Legal, the morning triathlon gives participants the opportunity to challenge themselves with a 400km swim in Cringle Reservoir, as well as a 10k cycle and 5km run using scenic tracks in Cringle Plantation.

GraniteMann is the perfect fitness challenge for individual competitors and local businesses. With solo (£50) and team (£100 per team of 3) entries, it’s an especially great way for businesses to build team spirit and compete against other organisations.

New for this year’s event is the GraniteMann Mini, an afternoon taster triathlon for those who want to attempt easier courses. Starting at 1.30pm, the Mini event includes a 200m lake swim, 3km cycle and 1km run, and is the perfect chance for families and friends (participants must be over 15 years old) to get involved. Reduced entry fees are available for the Mini event, with £25 solo entries and £50 team entries.

‘GraniteMann is a fun challenge for people of all levels of fitness,’ said The Children’s Centre’s Lisa Motley. ‘This year we’ve introduced the Mini event to encourage participation from those who may want to have a go at a triathlon for the first time. The morning and afternoon triathlons are a great opportunity to try outdoor sports and help raise valuable funds for The Children’s Centre.’

Please register online or visit The Children’s Centre website for more information. Lisa Motley can be contacted for further details on 800000.

Main entry closes on Wednesday 6 September. Late online entry (with no event vest) is available until Thursday 21 September.
