Business Essential is a short-term compliance programme which takes your organisation through the complete process to become fully GDPR compliant.
Structured by a project timeline and guided by our qualified Business team, Business Essential is a practical solution to the challenges posed by the GDPR.
What are the key stages of Business Essential?
Project Management and Lead – As part of the GDPR compliance journey, you can opt for our experts to take on the Project Manager role and lead you through the entire process.
Discovery – We’ll meet with department heads, understand the organisation’s aims and objectives and how that fits with the GDPR.
Data Mapping and Gap Analysis – Mapping data across all streams and departments is crucial in establishing where there are gaps in your current data practices. From this audit stage, we’ll create a gap analysis on which the compliance journey will be built.
Bespoke Policies – As no two organisations are the same, it’s imperative that you create bespoke data policies to complement your internal practices and processes. These new documents are necessary to demonstrate GDPR compliance.
Staff Training – Once policies have been agreed, we can train your heads of department in GDPR staff awareness training, as well as create staff training collateral to further improve knowledge of relevant staff.
Handover policy documents for implementation into your organisation.
Under the GDPR, many organisations will be required to appoint a Data Protection Officer to be responsible for maintaining good data practices. Rather than employ a full-time member of staff, our Business Premier package allows you to hire the services of a in-house Data Protection Officer when you need them.
What is included in the Business Premier package?
Site visits – Face-to-face contact time is crucial when handling data protection matters. Planned site visits are a fantastic feature in the package and will be agreed with you, based on your organisation’s needs.
Advice – If you require additional advice outside of usual contact times, our Data Protection Officer will be available to discuss by telephone and email.
Data breach support – In the event of a data breach at your organisation, the Data Protection Officer will manage the situation including judging the severity of the breach, investigating the cause and measuring the potential for risk and loss to the business and data subjects. If necessary, they will notify the Information Commissioner of the breach using the set procedures.
Point of contact – The Data Protection Officer will take over communications with the Information Commissioner on your behalf. Issues concerning audits, data breaches and any other situation relating to data practices will be handled swiftly and reliably.
